Humans of the Catskills: John Jacobson

John Jacobson

Journey to the Catskills:

I was born here. It’s been a journey ever since.

Vocation:

My vocations are many. I am a caregiver for my wife Claudia. I cook, keep track of doctor appointments and medications. I count birds and find wildflowers. I keep track of where large trout live. I play the fiddle and sometimes call square dances. When I’m done with all of this I write for journals and literary magazines. Oh, and I work for the Catskill Watershed Corporation.

Avocation:

My avocations are taking care of a black pug and an old yellow cat.

Happiness Is:

Happiness is discovering something new.

Favorite Dish:

My favorite dish today is steamed coconut citrus cod. Tomorrow it will be something different.
